RWG @ National Science and Technology Week 2019 



The Rushurgent Working Group participated as one of the exhibitors during the 2019 National Science and Technology Week (NSTW) exhibits held at the World Trade Center from July 17 to July 21. The laboratory's research program titled "Integrative Studies on the Geodynamics of the Philippine and Taiwan Arc Systems" was chosen as one of the exhibits under the International Linkages cluster. The DOST-funded program aims to gather geologic, paleontological, geochemical, paleomagnetic, geophysical and geochronologic data from Cebu and its nearby islands. The exhibit featured the results of the research which include subsurface imaging of the Bogo Fault, delineation of marine terraces, identifying possible geohazards in Cebu, and identification of representative lithologies in the island. The research program is headed by Dr. Carla B. Dimalanta as the Program Leader, and Dr. Betchaida D. Payot and Dr. Noelynna T. Ramos as the Project Leaders.
